Abstract

A rotary atomizing head type coating machine which is arranged to prevent occurrence of spark discharges, including a rotational shaft (,) which is formed of an insulating material, a rotary atomizing head (,) which is likewise formed of an insulating material and mounted on a fore end portion of the rotational shaft (,). An on-head semi-conductive coat film (,) is formed on outer peripheral surfaces of the rotary atomizing head (,). On the other hand, a first arcuate coat film (,) is formed on a first limiter ring (,) which is provided on a motor body (,), and a second arcuate coat film (,) is formed on a second limiter ring (,) which is provided on the rotary atomizing head (,). Further, a power supply semi-conductive coat film (,) is formed on and around outer peripheral surfaces of the rotational shaft (,) between the arcuate coat films (,) and (,). A high voltage which is applied to the air motor,is supplied to paint releasing edges (,E) of the rotary atomizing head (,) through the first arcuate coat film (,), power supply semi-conductive coat film (,), second arcuate coat film (,) and on-head semi-conductive coat film (,).
