Abstract
A trityl perfluorophenyl alumninate such as tris(2,2′,2″-nonafluorobiphenyl)-fluoroaluminate (PBA,) and its role as a cocatalyst in metallocene-mediated olefin polymerization is disclosed. Gallium and indium analogs are also disclosed, as are analogs with different anyl groups or different numbers of flourine atoms thereon.
