Abstract
Disclosed is an imaging optical system and an image forming apparatus that provide a small-size design and high resolution. An optical system (telecentric optical system) between the composite focus,of an imaging surface side and a laser array,is divided into a second lens group,and a third lens group,and the distance D,between the third lens group,and the laser array,is shortened, whereby the spread of incident light into the third lens group,is reduced and the aperture of the third lens,is reduced. Also, the principal light beam,of beam,from the laser array,is bent at two stages, the second lens group,and the third lens group,, and the distance D,between the second lens group,and the third lens group,is increased, whereby the bend of the principal light beam,of the laser beam,in the second lens group,and the third lens group,is reduced, with the result that small aberration is obtained.
