Abstract
An optical element switching device capable of quickly and reliably switching among optical elements. The optical element switching device includes a fixed guide section mounted on a housing, and a movable guide section mounted movably relative to the fixed guide section and provided with more than three optical elements. By moving the movable guide section, one of the optical elements is selectively inserted into the optical path. The optical element switching device further includes a restricting mechanism for limiting the number of optical elements which can be inserted into the optical path by restricting the movement of the movable guide section.
