Abstract
There is disclosed a flat panel display device which is thin in thickness, light in weight, and improved in durability. A liquid crystal display panel,and a surface light source unit,are held between a base enclosure,of a housing,and a surface cover member,. The display panel,is connected to rotatable support members,which rotatably support the display panel,The surface light source unit,includes a tube-like light source,a reflector,and an inverter circuit,to drive the light source,which are disposed close to the support members,in the enclosure,The surface light source unit,further includes a light guide,which is gradually thinner in thickness from the side of the support member,to its opposite side. The enclosure,further includes a bottom plate,which is also gradually thinner in thickness from the side of the support member,to its opposite side.
