Abstract

A mounting system (,) and method for adjusting the position of a PCB (,) in a housing (,) therefor is provided. An annular, stepped mounting member (,) having axially and radially spaced surface portions (,) provides predetermined positions for the PCB (,) in the housing (,) based on the size of a mounting opening (,) of the PCB (,). The PCB (,) is placed onto the mounting member (,) with those surface portions (,) that are of smaller diameter than the opening (,) fitting therethrough until the first portion (,) having a larger diameter is encountered which will be engaged against the PCB (,). In this manner, the present system (,) allows for a relatively quick and easy change to the size of the PCB mounting hole opening (,) to be made to effect a change in the PCB vertical position in the housing (,) thereby avoiding expensive and time-consuming changes that are usually required when the position of the PCB (,) needs to be changed to accommodate component reconfigurations and the like.
