A sleeve (,) is located in the central opening (,) for orienting the laminations (,) with respect to one another. Manifold and vane clamping pieces (,) are located on opposite sides of the stack (,) and engage the endmost laminations (,) and the sleeve (,). A pair of spaced shaft segments (,) engage respective ones of the clamping pieces (,) and a single tie bolt (,) extends through the sleeve (,) between the shaft segments (,) to interconnect the same. The tie bolt is in tension to apply clamping force to the shaft segments (,) for transmittal to the clamp pieces (,) to the laminations (,) in the stack (,).
