Abstract
Solvent-free, free-flowing, fine white powders of a copolymer of maleic anhydride and a C,-C,alkyl vinyl ether having a specific viscosity of about 0.5 to about 5 (1% wt/v in methyl ethyl ketone, 25° C.) and substantially without residue, odor or taste. A solvent-free process of polymerizing the monomers in the presence of 0.01 to 1.9% acetaldehyde also is described.
