Abstract

There is provided a gene for 2-aminothiazoline-4-carboxylate (ATC) racemase, a recombinant DNA comprising the gene or DNA fragment thereof, a transformant or transductant comprising the recombinant DNA, and a process for preparing the 2-aminothiazoline-4-carboxylate racemase using the transformant or transductant. According to the invention, the ATC racemase may be efficiently produced by microorganisms such as,and Pseudomonas and L-cysteine and L-cystine may be efficiently synthesized using the enzyme.
