Abstract

An implant to be inserted into a bore or recess (,) of a bone, such as a jaw bone (,), comprises a radially expandable tubular member (,) which is preferably made from a helically wound string or wire, and a core member (,) to be positioned within the tubular member. The core member (,) may be moved axially in relation to the tubular member (,) so as to expand the tubular member radially, whereby the implant may be efficiently fastened. The core member (,) may be screwed into the outer tubular member (,) or into an anchoring member (,) arranged at the inner end of the recess (,). The implant is relatively easy to remove if such removal should become necessary by radially contracting the tubular member (,).
