Abstract

Generally, the present invention relates to an improved implement for removing objects embedded in the ground and more particularly to a manually operated implement for removal of entire plants, root and all, such as unwanted saplings, vines, and large weeds with sturdy stems. In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, an implement is provided which includes a handle, attached to a head with a gripping device. The head includes a flared rear portion and a claw with two flanges on the front portion. The bottom face of the head is generally smooth. The top face of the head includes a collar for attachment to the handle. The gripping device rests atop the collar of the head and includes an extension which projects over the surface of the top face forming an aperture.
