Abstract
The present invention provides a method for positioning GSM mobile stations. Positioning information for a Mobile Station (,) is requested by a Base Station Subsystem (,) from Location Determination Equipment (,). The Location Determination Equipment (,) return signal measurements relating to the Mobile Station (,) to the Base Station Subsystem (,). The Base Station Subsystem (,) requests a location calculation from a Mobile Positioning Register (,). The Mobile Positioning Register (,) computes the position of the mobile station (,) based at least in part upon the signal measurements. The position of the Mobile Station (,) is then returned to the Base Station Subsystem (,).
