Abstract
Disclosed and claimed is: an immunogenic or vaccine composition for inducing in an equine host an immunological response against equine rhinopneumonitis virus (EHV) containing at least one plasmid that contains and expresses in vivo in an equine host cell nucleic acid molecule(s) having sequence(s) encoding EHV gB, gD, or gB and gD; an immunogenic or vaccine composition for inducing in an equine host immunological response against encephalomyelitis virus containing at least one plasmid that contains and expresses in vivo in an equine host cell nucleic acid molecule(s) having sequence(s) encoding encephalomyelitis virus C, E2, or C and E2 proteins; and, methods for using and kits employing such compositions.
