Abstract

The contact rail assembly (,) for electrically driven vehicles has two essentially rigid contact rails (,) which are arranged in a line in the travel direction and are separated by a distance (L,). Two transition horns (,) extend into the intermediate transition region, wherein one transition horn (,) is attached to each of the contact rails (,). On one section (L,) of the transition region there are the transition horns (,) that run parallel to each other separated by a distance (L,) and at an angle to the contact rail (,) and essentially parallel to the plane of travel of the vehicle, whereby the width of the transition horns (,) is less than the width of the contact rails (,). With this configuration, a relatively short transition region can be created between the contact rails (,), and the separation (L,) of the short contact wires (,) running parallel in the transition region, which are attached to the underside of the transition horns (,), is likewise relatively small. This contact rail assembly (,) makes possible a transition by one current collector of the vehicle from one contact rail (,) to the other, and a defined current supply is assured (FIG.,).
