Abstract
The invention relates to a multicylinder internal combustion engine with two inlet valves and two outlet valves (,), the outlet valves (,) being located on one side of an internal combustion engine and the inlet valves (,) being located on the other side. The outlet valves (,) and the inlet valves (,) are actuated by a camshaft via inlet rocker arms (,) and outlet rocker arms (,). In order to reduce the size of the cylinder heads (,) and the rocker housing (,), the inlet rocker arm (,) and the outlet rocker arm (,) are forked. Each forked rocker arm (,) actuates two similar valves (,) per cylinder (,). The axes (,) of the inlet rocker arms (,) or outlet rocker arms (,) are staggered in relation to each other or preferably overlap.
