Abstract

A Stirling cycle machine has a piston (,) which reciprocates in a cylinder (,) and defines a hot chamber (,) between the piston (,) and end of cylinder (,). Heat exchange for the working fluid in the hot chamber (,) is effected while the working fluid is outside the hot chamber (,) in a flow path (,) communicating with that chamber (,).
