Abstract
The present invention provides an apparatus (,) that includes a heat-generating component (,) and a heat-dissipating apparatus (,). The heat-generating component (,) is mounted on a substrate (,). The heat-dissipating apparatus (,) includes a housing piece (,) that includes a sealed chamber (,) and a phase change material (,) disposed within the sealed chamber (,). The heat-dissipating apparatus (,) is thermally coupled to the heat-generating component (,) and provides for heat dissipation by an endothermic process of changing phase from solid to liquid, thereby lowering the operating temperature of the heat-generating component (,).
