Abstract
An oscillator circuit comprises two main transistors (Q,, Q,), between which is provided a positive feedback by connecting each transistor base to the collector of the other transistor via buffer transistors (Q,, Q,). A capacitor (C) is connected between the emitters of the main transistors. The frequency of the oscillator is controlled by two current sources (,), which control the current (I,, I,) flowing through the capacitor (C). Additionally, a compensation current (Icom) is conducted via collector resistors (Rc,, Rc,) of the main transistors such that the current flowing through each resistor is essentially constant and independent of the control current (I,, I,), so the signal amplitude of the oscillator does not change during frequency control.
