Abstract
An output circuit for digital integrated circuit devices is presented, comprising a driving device with adjustable drive capability for generating an output pulse (OS), means (SENS) for monitoring the steepness of the output pulse (OS), and means (SEL) adjusting the drive capability of the driving device so as to minimize the difference between the monitored steepness and a predetermined steepness. In a preferred embodiment, said driving device comprises a plurality of driving stages (PM,-NM,PM,-NM,PM,-NM,PM,-NM,PM,-NM,) which can be activated independently from each other, and the means (SEL) for adjusting the drive capability comprises means for activating one or more driving stages from the plurality of driving stages (PM,-NM,PM,-NM,PM,-NM,PM,-NM,PM,-NM,).
