Abstract

The invention concerns a compound of formula (I) wherein for example R,is of the formula —NHC(═O)R,wherein R,is hydrogen, or (1-4C)alkyl; R,and R,are independently hydrogen or fluoro, R,is hydrogen, (1-4C)alkyl, halo or trifluoromethyl; R,and R,are, for example, independently hydrogen, (1-4C)alkyl, an acetylene of the formula -≡-H or -≡-(1-4C)alkyl, or a group of formula (IA) wherein, for example, Z is hydrogen or (1-4C)alkyl; X and Y are (1-4C)alkyl, halo, cyano, phenyl or heteroaryl; provided that X, Y and Z do not define a (2-4C)alkenyl group and provided that at least one of R,and R,is a group of formula (IA) or an acetylene of the formula -≡-H or -≡-(1-4C)alkyl; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; processes for their preparation; pharmaceutical compositions containing them and their use as antibacterial agents.
