Abstract

A method of neutralizing TNF&agr; in a patient benefiting from such neutralizing, comprising administering to the patient IgG Fab fragment reactive towards TNF&agr;. Suitably, the patient is suffering from septic shock or from the symptoms of septic shock. It is preferred if the Fab fragment is derived from polyclonal IgG.
