Abstract

An oral composition in the form of a toothpaste, powder, liquid dentifrice, mouthwash, denture cleanser, chewing gum or candy comprising one or more oral composition components selected from abrasives, binders, humectants, surfactants, fluoride ion sources, anti-calculus agents and sweeteners and additionally comprising: i) an aminoalkylsilicone; and ii) a silicone surfactant having general formula (1) wherein X is selected from hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy and acyl groups having from about 1 to about 16 carbon atoms, Y is CH,, q is 0, n is from about 1 to about 100, m is from about 1 to about 40, the molecular weight of the residue (C,H,O—),(C,H,O—),X is from about 50 to about 2000, and x and y are such that the weight ratio of oxyethylene:oxypropylene is from about 100:0 to about 0:100. The composition provides improved antiplaque and anti-bacterial activity together with excellent cleansing performance.
