Abstract
An optical system is disclosed. The optical system includes a fluid. A container is filled with the fluid, and the container has at least one window for permitting subject light to enter the container. At least one optical element is disposed within the container for performing a predetermined optical function on the subject light. The fluid has a viscosity of no greater than 40 centistokes and the optical element has an index of refraction approximately the same as the fluid. The fluid provides increased transmission of blue light as a percentage of total light being transmitted.
