Abstract

A process is disclosed for forming adducts of the formula: RR,R,CCR,R,F or (FR,R,CCRR,CH,),where R is CH,, CH,F, or F(CF,),CH,CH,(where n is an integer from 1 to 10) each R,is H, Cl, F or CF,and each R,is H, F or CF,. The process in reacting a saturated compound of the formula RF with an olefin of the formula R,R,C═CR,R,in the liquid phase in the presence of antimony pentafluoride catalyst (provided that when (FR,R,CCR,R,CH,),is formed, the saturated compound is CH,CHF,or CH,FCH,F and anhydrous HF is present).
