Abstract
A telecommunications network (,) includes a digital cross-connect system (,) that receives frame relay information carried in individual DS-,signals over DS-,links (,) and/or multiple DS-,signals over FT-,links (,). The digital cross-connect system (,) includes a cross-connect matrix (,) that consolidates DS-,signals into DS-,signals. The digital cross-connect system (,) further includes a frame groomer (,) that extracts frames from each DS-,signal for consolidation into a frame groomed consolidated circuit. The frame groomed consolidated circuit is transferred to an edge switch (,) in DS-,signals through the frame groomer (,) and the cross-connect matrix (,).
