Abstract

The invention relates to a color negative photographic element comprising a support, upon which is coated a blue sensitive silver halide layer containing a yellow dye forming coupler, a green sensitive silver halide layer containing a magenta dye forming coupler, a red sensitive silver halide layer containing a cyan dye forming coupler, and a 4,sensitized layer containing an infrared dye forming coupler and wherein the dye formed by the infrared dye forming coupler has a &lgr;-max greater than 680 nm and wherein the density of the absorption band of the characteristic vector of the cyan dye, normalized to 1.0 density, is less than 0.4 at 700 nm.
