Abstract
The present invention relates to a self-ignition combustion process in a four-stroke internal-combustion engine comprising at least one cylinder (,) having at least a first intake (,) and at least a first exhaust. The process according to the invention, at partial load, fills an external volume (,) independent of cylinder (,) with burned gases, the volume (,) being connected to cylinder (,) by a specific port and a specific line (,), and in controlling the flow and/or the pressure of the burned gases in the volume (,) through a throttle,(,) associated with a seal allowing selective sealing of the specific port such as a valve (S or S,and S,). The present invention further relates to a four-stroke engine implementing the above-described process.
