A selective call receiver unit (,) capable of reducing data distortion and improving simulcast reception includes a selective call receiver (,), a demodulator (,) coupled to the selective call receiver and a circuit (,and,) coupled to the demodulator for reducing data distortion received at a selective call receiver.
