Abstract

A disc cartridge designed to prevent mistaken loading on a recording and/or reproducing apparatus in which only a disc cartridge having different specifications can be loaded. The disc cartridge includes a main cartridge body portion,for housing a magnetic disc,having different specifications from those of a magnetic disc housed in a conventional disc cartridge,, and recording/reproducing apertures,formed in the main cartridge body portion,so as to be faced by a recording/reproducing unit provided on the recording/reproducing apparatus. The disc cartridge also includes a shutter member,for opening/closing the recording/reproducing apertures,and loading regulating portions,provided on the main cartridge body portion,for regulating loading of the main cartridge body portion on the recording/reproducing apparatus,in which only the conventional disc cartridge,can be loaded.
