Abstract
A sinker (,) for a circular knitting machine contains a shaft (,) with a recess (,) in which a selection element (,) provided with a controllable raising butt (,) is mounted swivellably and can be swivelled to and fro between a position in which the raising butt (,) is retracted into the recess (,) and a position in which the raising butt (,) projects upwards over the upper side of the shaft (,).
