Abstract
An improved process for the production of bis (N,N-dialkylaminoalkyl)ether having the formula (R.sub.2 NR').sub.2 O, wherein R is methyl or ethyl and R' is ethyl or propyl, by reacting vaporized N,N-dialkylaminoalkanol of the formula R.sub.2 NR'OH, wherein R and R' are as defined above, in the presence of a heterogeneous solid basic catalyst. The bis (N,N-dialkylaminoalkyl)ether compounds, especially bis (N,N-dimethylamino)ethyl ether, are useful in the production of polyurethane foams.
