Abstract

A card connector includes a detecting unit indicating the full insertion of a card into a card-receiving slot that provides no pressure on the card in the direction of its ejection, thereby providing for better reliability of electrical connections between the connector and the card. Card (C) is inserted in card-receiving slot (4) of housing (2) of card connector (1). When the card (C) is fully inserted in the card-receiving slot, one side of the card presses down V-shaped contact section (52a) of sensing member (52) breaking its electrical contact with sensing member (54), thus confirming the full insertion of the card into the card-receiving slot. The V-shaped contact section (52a) exerts pressure against the card (C) in a perpendicular direction.
