Abstract

Disclosed is a process for producing a compound having at least one epoxy group, which comprises: subjecting a compound having at least one carbon--carbon unsaturated bond and at least one epoxy group to selective hydrogenation in the presence of a catalyst comprising at least one of rhodium and ruthenium supported on a carbonaceous support, the carbonaceous support having a specific surface area of from 5 to 600 m.sup.2 /g, to thereby selectively hydrogenate the at least one carbon--carbon unsaturated bond.
