Abstract

The invention provides a novel calcium-independent cytosolic phospholipase A.sub.2 -Gamma enzyme, polynucleotides encoding such enzyme and methods for screening unknown compounds for anti-inflammatory activity mediated by the arachidonic acid cascade.
