Abstract
An imaging optical system for a light beam scanning system for causing a light bundle deflected by a deflector to form an image on a predetermined surface to be scanned and causing the image of the light bundle to scan the surface at a constant speed is provided with an anamorphic lens for compensating for tilt of the deflecting surface of the deflector. The imaging optical system satisfies formula
