Abstract

A thermoplastic raw material, such as a polyester, containing particles (I) having an average particle diameter of <0.5 .mu.m and particles (II) having an average particle diameter of from 3.3 to 4.0 .mu.m, is useful, for example, in the production of an oriented monolayer or multilayer film having a total thickness of .ltoreq.4 .mu.m and a roughness on at least one film surface of R.sub.a <30 nm, the surface gas flow time t on at least one film surface being <2900 sec and the winding stability of the film being at least 8000. The film is useful, for example, as a capacitor film.
