Abstract
A recording medium cartridge includes a disk-shaped recording medium and a case housing the recording medium. A window is provided in the case to expose a portion of the recording medium. A shutter is provided on the case to close and expose the window. A latch is movable in a direction perpendicular to the direction of relative movement of the shutter and is linked to the shutter by a band such that movement of the band causes the shutter to selectively close or expose the window. In one embodiment, the recording medium cartridge has a non-zero thickness equal to or less than approximately 2.0 mm.
