Abstract

A transmitting apparatus which can suppress unnecessary power consumption. An optimal signal line is selected from a plurality of signal lines (53-56) having different gains provided by respective signal amplifying device to perform gain adjustment on a signal to be transmitted, which is supplied to an input terminal (58), so as to optimize power consumption of each signal amplifying device in accordance with a gain value, and to halt the operation of the signal amplifying device on a signal line which is not selected. Therefore, unnecessary power consumption can be suppressed.
