Abstract
A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate having pixel electrodes and active elements formed thereon in a matrix form, a second substrate having common electrodes formed thereon which face the pixel electrodes, and a liquid crystal located between the first and second substrates and having a spontaneous polarization.
