Abstract
Process for preparing a supported metallocene catalyst, in which a hydrophilic, macroporous, finely divided aluminum oxide, silicon oxide, titanium oxide or zirconium oxide or a mixture or mixed oxide thereof is dried at from 110 to 800.degree. C., then reacted with an aluminoxane and subsequently with polyfunctional organic crosslinkers. In a further step, the catalyst support can be mixed with a reaction product of metallocenes and activators, giving a supported metallocene catalyst which is used, in particular, for the polymerization of olefins.
