Abstract
A (photo)thermographic recording material according to the present invention comprising a thermosensitive element contains a substantially light-insensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent therefor in thermal working relationship therewith and a binder (and optionally further including photosensitive silver halide), wherein the (photo)thermographic recording material is exclusive of polypyrrole/poly(styrene sulfonic acid) in an electrically-conductive layer and further contains a compound represented by formula (I) or a reaction product thereof with a polymer having active hydrogen atoms: ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 independently represent hydrogen, a hydroxyalkyl group, an alkoxyalkyl group, an alkyl group, a --(C.dbd.O)R.sup.5 group or an alkenyl group; and R.sup.2 and R.sup.4 independently represent a hydroxyalkyl group, an alkoxyalkyl group, an alkyl group, a --(C.dbd.O)R.sup.5 group or an alkenyl group; or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 together and R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 together independently represent the atoms needed to close a carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring; R.sup.5 represents an aryl, a substituted aryl, an alkyl or a substituted alkyl group; and Z represents the atoms needed to complete a 5 ring-atom or 6 ring-atom hetero-aromatic ring; and a production process therefor.
