Abstract
A recording and/or playback apparatus using a disc cartridge that accommodates a disc-shaped recording medium has an apparatus main body, a loading mechanism, a lock mechanism, and a lid body. The apparatus main body has a recording and/or playback section for performing recording and/or playback on a disc that is accommodated in the disc cartridge, and an opening portion through which the disc cartridge is to be inserted into and ejected from the apparatus main body. The loading mechanism mounts the disc accommodated in the disc cartridge that has been inserted through the opening portion on the recording and/or playback section, and ejects, through the opening portion, the disc that is mounted on the recording and/or playback section and accommodated in the disc cartridge. The lid body, which opens or closes the opening portion, is rotatably provided on the apparatus main body. The lock mechanism locks the lid body at a position for closing the opening portion. Specifically, the lock mechanism locks the lid body at the position for closing the opening portion in a state that the disc accommodated in the disc cartridge has been mounted on the recording and/or playback section by the loading mechanism. When the disc cartridge is ejected through the opening portion, the lid body is turned in a direction of opening the opening portion by the disc cartridge being ejection-operated by the loading mechanism, and then moved further in the direction of opening the opening portion by the lock mechanism.
