Abstract
An .alpha.-olefin polymerization catalyst which comprises (A) a solid catalyst component obtained by treating a solid product obtained by contacting a compound having an M--O bond (M is the element of the 1st, 2nd, 13th and 14th Groups in the Periodic Table) with an organomagnesium compound in the presence of an electron donor, with an electron donor and successively a halide compound of metal of the 4th to 6th Groups in the Periodic Table, (B) an organoaluminum compound, and (C) an electron donative compound, and a process for producing an .alpha.-olefin polymer polymerizing an .alpha.-olefin with said catalyst.
