Abstract

A primer composition comprising (A) an acrylic resin, (B) a benzotriazole compound having not more than 1% by weight of heat loss when held at 150.degree. C. for 1 hour, and (C) an organic solvent. Also disclosed are an article obtained by forming a primer coat of the primer composition on the surface of a substrate, and an article obtained by forming the primer coat on the surface of a transparent plastic substrate and coating on the primer coat a protective coat comprising a condensation type curable silicone resin. The primer coat, which contains the above benzotriazole compound as an ultraviolet light absorber, has a superior weatherability while maintaining a good adhesion to the substrate.
