Abstract
A composition is provided for treating silica filler in-situ, comprising a silanol-terminated, vinyl-containing polydiorganosiloxane having the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a monovalent substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical; R.sup.1 is R or a halogenated alkyl radical; R.sup.2 is R or a halogenated alkyl radical; 'a' is a number in the range of from about 1 to about 30; 'b' is a number in the range of from 0 to about 50; and 'c' is a number in the range of from 4 to about 30; the vinyl content of the polydiorganosiloxane being in the range of from about 1 to about 20% by weight and the silanol content being in the range of from about 0.1 to about 6% by weight. Preferably, R and R.sup.1 are methyl, R.sup.2 is methyl or 3,3,3-trifluoropropyl, and b is 0.
