Abstract

A method of preventing growth of hairy warts and preventing hairy wart disease in dairy cattle by applying to a potentially infected area of the cattle, e.g. hooves, a solution comprising a peroxycarboxylic acid, e.g. of C.sub.2 -C.sub.18 carbon atoms or mixtures thereof, particularly peracetic acid, is described.
