Abstract
A pair of degenerate oligonucleotide primers can amplify transglutaminase-specific fragments of known transglutaminase genes. The primers are also used to obtain new transglutaminase gene products. The nucleotide sequence of a novel transglutaminase gene (termed TG.sub.X) is presented.
