Abstract

A master cylinder for a vehicle hydraulic brake system, in which the master cylinder includes a body having a stepped bore formed therethrough and at least one piston disposed within the stepped bore. A plug is preferably permanently fixed to one end of the bore providing for a leak tight seal at the end of the bore. The master cylinder preferably includes a spring assembly having a pin with a longitudinally regular end portion which is retained in a bore of the piston.
