Abstract

The process for transmission of digital application data with a predetermined application data timing signal (T1) includes oversampling the application data signal for transmission of the application data with an independent timing signal (T2) which has a frequency which is greater than, but less than twice, that of the application data timing signal (T1). In order to make expensive timing rate adjustment measures unnecessary, the application data is transmitted with this independent timing signal for data transmission. The recovery of the application data timing signal (T1) at the receiver end can be accomplished without considerable effort or expense. The process includes regenerating the application data timing signal (T1) from the scanned application data signal transmitted at the independent timing signal (T2) on the reception end and subsequently recovering the application data signal with the aid of the regenerated application data timing signal (T1).
