Abstract
The invention relates to a method for the preparation of a steroid derivative ketal of formula I: ##STR1## characterized in that a compound of formula II: ##STR2## is treated with an alcohol in the presence of an orthoester, wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are as defined by the specification.
